A Restoration Appeal for St Patrick’s Cathedral is being launched today by the Church of Ireland Archbishop of Armagh, Dr Robert Eames.

The appeal aims to raise £500,000 sterling for a variety of work including repairing window stonework and glass and necessary interior repairs to plaster and stone.

The total cost of the work is estimated at £1 million but with grant aid from Historic Buildings and Heritage Lottery about half of that amount will be met. The external landscaping is also to be improved.
