Strong winds and heavy seas are being blamed for an incident last night in which the Aran Islands lifeboat ran aground.
The vessel was refloated this moring and is not thought to have been seriously damaged.
The boat, which was vacant, washed up on the beach near the entrance to Kilronan Harbour on Inishmore after breaking loose from its moorings.
