Kuala Lumpur - The former Malaysian finance minister, Mr Anwar Ibrahim, was transferred yesterday to a jail outside the capital to be held on remand rather than under powerful internal security laws. Mr Anwar (51), who was arrested on September 20th under the Internal Security Act, was moved from the Bukit Aman federal police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur to Sungai Buloh prison, 25 km to the north. He is facing sodomy and corruption charges.
