There were convincing wins for, Kerry, Longford and Derry while Meath had a close encounter as all four teams advanced from the All-Ireland Minor Football quarter-finals today.
Meath were pushed all the way in their narrow 1-08 to 1-07 win over Galway in the first game of the day at Hyde Park in Roscommon.
There was no such pressure on Longford who eased past Leitrim by a three-goal, 4-06 to 1-06, winning margin in the second game at Hyde Park.
Elsewhere Derry trounced Tipperary by 5-13 to 1-3 at Navan while Kerry had a comfortable passage into the semi-finals as they defeated Tyrone by 3-14 to 1-08 in Portlaoise.
