THE Alliance leader, Dr John Alderdice, has appealed to political parties in the North to give the Mitchell proposals a chance.
He said parts of the report would be hard for some politicians to swallow.
"To use a medical example we called in the specialists and they have now prescribed the treatment," he said.
"We must recognise that George Mitchell and his colleagues have put together a complete package. We cannot pick and choose which bits we like. The whole process would begin to unravel."
