London - The Transport Minister, Mr John Reid, yesterday told airlines concerted action was needed to tackle the growing problem of "air rage".

He said the government intended to make it a specific offence for passengers who interfere with air crew going about their duties. The moves came after a meeting with airline leaders which followed the attack on Ms Fiona Weir, a stewardess, by a drunken passenger during a flight from London to Malaga.
