The Taoiseach, Mr Ahern, begins a four-day visit to Lebanon, Israel and Palestine tomorrow and will stay overnight on Monday with the Irish battalion serving with UNIFIL in south Lebanon, writes Jim Cusack, Security Correspondent.
It is the first time a Taoiseach has visited the UNIFIL battalion, which has completed 20 years of service in one of the most troubled parts of the Middle East.
