A letting agent has pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to withholding from 10 landlords more than £18,000 in rent he collected form their tenants. Raymond Walsh (35), of Alden Drive, Raheny, also allegedly threatened to kill the father of one landlord and was found to have illegally-held ammunition. He pleaded guilty to 71 counts of fraudulent conversion, unlawful possession of ammunition and criminal damage on dates between 1977 and 1999.

Judge Elizabeth Dunne adjourned sentence to October 10th for Walsh to undergo probation and psychiatric assessments.

Det Garda John Walsh said in evidence that Walsh controlled three letting companies - City Wide Properties, Phibsborough Property Locators and Abbeywin Ltd - and collected rents in many parts of Dublin.
