The High Court has granted a temporary injunction preventing a number of people involved in a dispute with ground handlers Servisair disrupting Aer Rianta's operations and trespassing on its property at Dublin Airport. Servisair employees are in dispute with that company over proposals to make 13 employees redundant and new rosters.

Applying for the order, Mr Paul Sreenan SC, for Aer Rianta, said an escalation of action by protesting Servisair employees yesterday had caused severe disruption to Dublin Airport.

In an affidavit, the Aer Rianta legal affairs manager, Ms Marie Walsh,. said that early yesterday, protesters had put a blockade in place at Cargo Post number four and made access there difficult.

Twelve protesters who broke through a security fence at the airport perimeter to gain access to Servisair management were later removed.
