AER ARANN has announced the launch of three new routes to Britain and the relaunch of a fourth in an expansion of services from regional Irish airports.

This latest move, along with a franchise agreement announced recently with Aer Lingus to operate 12 routes to Britain and France, will create 30 new jobs.

In the latest launch, the Kerry to Manchester route starts again four days a week from May 20th.

Two new services from City of Derry airport to Manchester and to Edinburgh will also begin on that date. The current Donegal to Glasgow-Prestwick route will be replaced from March 28th by a service to the closer Glasgow airport. According to the airline, the Manchester service will operate daily, while the service to Edinburgh will operate six days a week.

The company also says its current Derry to Dublin service will start at the earlier time of 7.40am.

The new routes follow the recent announcement of a franchise agreement with Aer Lingus to operate 12 routes to Britain and France under the brand Aer Lingus Regional. Aer Arann will run those routes for Aer Lingus from Dublin to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Blackpool, Durham and Doncaster. From Cork the airline will fly to Cardiff, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow and La Rochelle.

  • A new ferry service between Cork and Swansea, due to have its inaugural sailing yesterday, will now sail from Swansea on Friday night arriving in Cork next Saturday. Last Friday Fastnet Line cancelled the first sailing which was scheduled to depart from Cork yesterday because of minor technical difficulties.
