London - Veteran BBC war reporter, Kate Adie, yesterday launched an attack on Downing Street saying she had been incorrectly accused of endangering the Prime Minister's security by breaching a news blackout on his travel plans to the Middle East.

Ms Adie was cleared by BBC management following reports that she prematurely disclosed that Mr Blair was visiting the Gulf state of Oman as part of his diplomatic efforts in the war against terrorism.

She accused Mr Blair's official spokesman, Mr Tom Kelly, of "exacerbating the situation" by "encouraging" journalists to publish the security-sensitive information.
