CATTLE exporter, Mr Noel Carter, and his son, Wesley, have withdrawn a High Court action seeking to restrain the Minister for Agriculture from disseminating to any third parties the contents of documents seized in a raid on their home last month.

The Carters, of Carbmy, Co Kildare, had claimed they were criminally assaulted by the Department of Agriculture agents who allegedly "stormed" their home in search of illegal animal drugs.

Mr Rex Mackey, for the Carters, told Mr Justice Kinlan it was possible there may bed proceedings taken by the Department and it would be inappropriate for his clients to continue with their actions.

Earlier Mr Justice Peter Kelly had granted an interim injunction temporarily restraining the Minister and his staff but this was vacated by consent of both parties.
