Leaving Cert/Technical drawing: The 7,000 students who opted for technical drawing in the Leaving Cert received a fair and user-friendly paper, according to teachers.
Mr Pat O'Dwyer, of Kenmare Vocational School, said: "The higher level paper was extremely well laid out, easy to read and very accessible."
While question one was similar to last year, it created problems for students. "Quite a few had great difficulty in answering it," said Mr O'Dwyer, a TUI subject representative. Also, part (c) of the question three was described as being a little over the top. However students had plenty of time to complete the paper, Mr O'Dwyer added. Students and teachers felt that yesterday's exam was a big improvement on last year and most prepared candidates will be able to score highly.
Mr O'Dwyer said the ordinary level paper was "outstanding" and he is expecting students to achieve high marks."It's a logic-based subject. You have to be logically-minded,"he said.
