There is no more genial or relaxed cook in the country than Eugene McSweeney, chefpatron of Kilkenny's Lacken House, and when we add in McSweeney's copious culinary gifts, it all adds up to just the right combination for fun-filled cookery classes.
This year, McSweeney will be hosting classes in Lacken House in October and November. There are two three-day Classic cooking courses: October 6th, 7th and 8th will be devoted to Classic Cooking, while November 10th, 11th and 12th will feature Classic Christmas Cooking. In addition, there will be two one-day courses: October 20th will focus on Dinner Party Cooking, and November 17th will see the day devoted to Christmas cooking.
Courses commence at 10.30 a.m. with morning coffee, conclude at 3 p.m. and will be punctuated by a light lunch with wine. The three-day courses cost £200, the single day courses £40, and copies of all recipes are included in the price. Accommodation is also available at £25 per person per night.
