Eighty new jobs will be created by the Boots chemist chain when it opens a new store in Galway city centre early next summer. The 8,000 sq ft store, at the former Naughton's hardware premises in Shop Street, is undergoing major renovations. It will be the chain's 28th store in Ireland and, with a planned outlet in Waterford and a new central distribution centre in Dublin, will bring total employment in the Republic to over 1,000 by this time next year.
