A firm of auctioneers was asked to evaluate over 700 acres of land owned by companies in the Murphy group at the beginning of 1989 and they came to just over £3 million, the tribunal was told.

The auctioneers, Duffy Mangan and Butler, submitted a report in March 1989, Mr James Gogarty said. The lands were mainly in north Co Dublin.

The auctioneers said it was their opinion that the current open market values of the properties were: Scotts Farm, Balgriffin, Co Dublin, £1,275,000; Poppintree and Jamestown Road, one plot, £413,000, a second, £65,000; Forest Road, Swords, Co Dublin, £14,000; St Helen's, Portmarnock, Co Dublin, £35,000; Rockmount, Finglas, £332,000; Charlestown, Finglas, £273,000; Turvey Avenue, Donabate, Co Dublin, £325,000; and Beverton, Turvey Avenue, Donabate, £270,000.
