1Iris Robinson had an affair with a 19-year-old man, Kirk McCambley, 18 months ago.
2She got £50,000 from property developer Fred Fraser, who has since died, and Co Down builder Ken Campbell, to fund a business venture for McCambley.
3She later asked him for £5,000 in cash for herself.
4She broke the law by not declaring her financial interest in the business deal.
5When the relationship broke down, she initially demanded the money back and wanted half paid to her and half to her church, Light and Life Free Methodist Church, Dundonald.
6Iris Robinson lobbied on behalf of a Ken Campbell building scheme in Newtownards.
7BBC's
Spotlightclaimed that when Peter Robinson became aware of the payments, he insisted they should be repaid but did not inform the authorities of his wife's conduct.
Peter Robinson's response
After the Spotlightprogramme was broadcast, Peter Robinson issued the following statement:
I completely reject BBC Spotlight's attempt to implicate me by insinuation and innuendo.
I am even more appalled by the inclusion on that programme of comments and conclusions made without any supporting facts - indeed with facts in the programme which support a contrary position.
While I have learned from Spotlightfor the first time some alleged aspects of my wife's affair and her financial arrangements, I will be resolutely defending attacks on my character and contesting any allegations of wrongdoing.
