A 12 year old schoolgirl who broke her wrist when she fell while getting off a school bus has been awarded £7,000 damages in the Circuit Civil Court. Judge Esmonde Smyth held that Sylvester Poleon, of Croftwood Park, Cherry Orchard, Dublin, had been negligent in not having proper supervision of the children in place on the day of the accident.

He told Mr Pat O'Brien, counsel for Linda Connaughton, of Moycullen Road, Ballyfermot, that he was satisfied the accident was a one off incident in the normally excellent service provided by the defendant's bus company.
