Lagos - Twenty seven schoolgirls were burned alive after a blaze broke out in a hostel at their secondary school in central Nigeria where they were locked in for the night, reporters said last night.
The victims were among 165 students locked into the hostel at the government secondary school at Gindiri in the Mangu municipality of central Plateau State to stop them mixing with students from the boys' hostel, a local reporter said.
