An 84-year-old woman who lost a High Court action to prevent a major shopping centre being built in Galway has been ordered to pay costs which are estimated at over £200,000.

Ms Anne Hynes, of Old Clybaun Road, Knocknacarra, Galway, challenged the decision of An Bord Pleanla Pleanala to grant planning permission for Knocknacarra Shopping Centre.

Permission was granted to Mr Patrick Joyce for the development. A judge is to hear submissions on November 2nd on whather whether to grant an appeal to the Supreme Court.
