Buenos Aires - The size of the hole in the ozone layer over Antarctica was the largest ever measured and lasted a month longer than the year before, Argentine meteorologists said yesterday.

The National Weather Service (SMN) said the yearly stage - called an episode - in which the ozone hole appears over the Antarctic ended last week and was "the largest and most intense on record".
