ROMANTIC GETAWAY?:IN CASE YOU need an incentive to get jiggy with it, a hotel in Aruba is willing to pay for your pleasure, but only if your connubial cavorting spawns very particular consequences.

In other words, it wants you to make babies, and make them at the Westin Resort if you can.

To encourage game guests, this four-star resort on the Dutch Caribbean island is offering couples who conceive at the hotel a “conception credit” of $300 (€210) towards a return visit next year.

The offer goes out to couples staying at the hotel before December 18th. Potential parents will need to produce a doctor’s note testifying to the fact that their offspring was the upshot of a Westin Resort getaway, or at least came into being during their stay on the island.

Hard work though it may appear, the rewards for producing a Westin baby are redeemable on such extras as an in-room massage or other spa services, to be indulged in by the deserving parents.

To help bring about the happy – and lucrative – event, the Westin rate, from $199 (€140) per person per night, includes accommodation, three meals daily and the all-important unlimited drinks, including beer, wine and cocktails, as well as a $25 (€18) dining credit for the resort’s restaurants, to keep couples energised for the hard work of building up resort credit.

For extra incentive, you’ve got Aruba’s average temperature of 28 degrees and kilometres of white sand leading to turquoise waters; the sunsets alone will get even the most unromantically inclined in the mood for a little how’s your father.

But if bearing children is too great a price to pay for some resort credit, there are other options. The Westin is also offering $100 (€70) credit for all bookings made before the end of this month for stays until December 18th.
