Spain tops for pickpockets
BARCELONA is the number one city in the world for pickpockets, according to online British travel insurer insurewithease.com.
Its 2010 Pickpocket Index – based on TripAdvisor site data – also puts Madrid, Tenerife and Costa Blanca in its top 10, making Spain the world’s pickpocketing hot spot, according to the insurer.
Its advice on not getting robbed? Don’t carry lots of cash, leave valuables in a hotel safe – and don’t dress in a way that shouts “money”.
Most of us pack teabags
MOST Irish people pack teabags when they go on holidays – but 65 per cent of them also make a point of trying out local cuisine when they’re abroad, according to a Hotels.com survey.
Coffee, bacon and cornflakes also ranked high as must-have foods on holidays.
The survey of 166 people showed that 58 per cent favoured Italian cuisine over all others on holidays.
