Horse racing:The Velká Pardubická steeplechase, one of the longest and most challenging in Europe, takes place in the Czech Republic on Sunday October 12th, offering visitors a chance to combine racing with a weekend in Prague.
The race is held in the town of Pardubice, about 100km east of the Czech capital.
Tully's Travel (059-9136100, www.tullys.ie) has a deal leaving on October 10th and returning on October 13th that costs €799 per person sharing. It includes flights, four-star hotel accommodation, transfers, entrance tickets and taxes.
Dawson Travel (021-4274397, www.dawson-travel.com) is offering a similar package, with return flights to Prague leaving from Cork or Dublin. It costs €799 plus taxes.
Marathon Travel (01-4755010, www.marathon-travel.ie) has limited availability left for its trip, which costs €825 per person sharing in four-star accommodation.
