Art lovers will have already noted a new purpose-built gallery, which has been opened by Kevin Kavanagh on Chancery Lane, beside the Radisson Hotel in Dublin 8.

His first show of nine international artists, including works by Tony Fitzpatrick, Henry Darger, the self-taught American painter/janitor, and the German artist Karin Brunnermeier makes good use of the new space, which is double the size of his last gallery on Strand Street, Dublin 1, where the Portlaoise man was based for nine years.

Entitled The World Needs a Narrative, he says the show features works by artists for whom storytelling is central. www.kevinkavanaghgallery.ie
