Finghin and Dearbhla Collins, pianists
Brother and sister piano duo Finghin and Dearbhla Collins shared an instrument as children. This week they share the stage - but get a piano each - in the National Concert Hall. Finghin first learned music from another sister, Mary; now he is musician in residence with South Dublin County Council and tours the world, learning languages as he goes. He has played international venues including Carnegie Hall. Dearbhla is a prize-winning soloist, chamber musician, operatic and vocal coach and accompanist, and a member of the recently formed Culture Ireland agency. The pair perform Saint-Saens's The Carnival of the Animals with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra on Friday in the National Concert Hall and on Wednesday July 27th as part of the RTÉ Farmleigh Proms. For free tickets to the Proms, see the current RTÉ Guide.
