St Valentine’s Day is the one day in the year when it’s all right to go all gushy, slushy, squidgy and syrupy

St Valentine’s Day is the one day in the year when it’s all right to go all gushy, slushy, squidgy and syrupy. Even the coolest customer is allowed to loosen up and let their love flow on this officially sanctioned public day of affection. And what better way to declare your love than with a vibrant splash of paint?

Anne MacManus has created 50 small paintings of the heart for her new exhibition, Sweetheart, opening at the Mill Theatre in Dundrum Town Centre from today until March 11th. These colourful cameos, costing €175 each, will make the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for your own heart’s desire. Each painting is oil on canvas, so, just like love, they’re made to last. So snap up one and set someone’s heart all a-flutter on February 14th. The exhibition will be officially opened at 5.30pm today by Dave Fanning, a man who really knows his Heart from his Elbow.
