The top-of-the-range 7-Series will be powered by a 6-litre V12 engine offering 445bhp and with an impressive 600Nm of torque.

While there are no prices for Ireland yet, in Britain the V12 will cost from £76,350.

The 760i and 760Li will be distinguished from other 7-Series models by a discreet V12 logo on the front wheel arches, unique chrome kidney grille, new wheel design, and B pillars and exterior mirror stems finished in hi-gloss black.

The centre console, doors and dashboard will be trimmed in Nasca leather.

The dashboard also receives inlaid burr walnut trim. Alcantara roof lining has been added, as well as an illuminated V12 sill plate. The car will, of course, come with the iDrive control system.

The German manufacturer claims the premier car will offer fuel consumption of 21.1 mpg and a 0-60mph of 5.5 seconds, and top speed is limited to 155 mph.

It will have the same six-speed automatic in the other 7-series cars on offer.

So far 155 7-Series have been sold since its launch in January, and BMW Ireland expects to match those sales figures again this year.

While potential customers for the 760 have already been approached, sales in the Republic are not expected to get beyond single figures.
