US Ironhorse bankrupt
American IronHorse, a Texas-based company of custom-style bikes priced at between $25,000 and $40,000, filed for bankruptcy protection in late March. Sales dipped from around 3,000 motorcycles in 2005 to only 800 last year, slashing earnings from $96 million to only $25 million, despite a raft of new cut-price machines.
The company owes more than $10 million to numerous creditors.
Superbikes in Valencia
More than 60,000 fans watched Lorenzo Lanzi (RG Ducati) and Noriyuki Haga (Yamaha Motor Italia WSB) take wins in the two WSB races at Valencia.
Max Neukirchner (Suzuki Alstare) led every lap in race one from pole position until the final corner, when Spaniard Carlos Checa (HANNspree Ten Kate Honda) dived inside him only to crash and take them both down.
Maddock's Bray ride out
Scottish road racer Iain Duffus will lead a ride out from Maddocks Motorcycles in Bray on Sunday, April 20th, as part of a weekend of events at the BMW bike dealer to mark the official launch of the Maddock Metzeler Tyre Club.
Duffus will be at the dealers on Saturday to advise riders on biking issues such as tyre choice, shock adjustment and other such features. All bikers are welcome to join the Maddocks Metzeler Club.
