Council rejects plans for 49 homes in Carrickmines

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has refused the Parkway Partnership planning permission for a development of 36 apartments and 13 detached houses off Cornelscourt Hill Road in Carrickmines, Dublin 18.

Parkway was looking to refurbish Claremont, a protected structure, demolish the existing single storey kitchen extension and build a new kitchen. The developer was also looking to refurbish the gate-lodge at Claremont and turn it into a three-bed private dwelling and to demolish St Bernards, a single storey detached house as well as its gate-lodge.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council decided that the proximity, scale and design of the proposed development would adversely affect the setting of Claremont and would represent an unacceptable intrusion on the setting of the protected structure.
