With Drogheda set to get a new £50 million (63.49m) shopping centre in the docklands, the existing retail outlets are undergoing a shakeout and an upgrading. Drogheda town centre is one of the places being enlarged following the acquisition of a number of adjoining premises on Dyer Street and Stockwell Lane. Agents Mason Owen &Lyons are seeking tenants for eight internal shops, five kiosks and four external shops in the adjoining buildings.
The shops vary in size from 258 to 4,575 sq ft and are available at rents of £35 to £50 (44 to63) for the internal units and between £25 and £30 (32 to 80) externally. A rent of £10,000(12,697) is being sought for the 100 sq ft kiosks which will be ready for use in September. Access to the centre will be improved later this year when a new bridge across the River Boyne is opened from the Dublin road. A new 350-space multi-storey car-park is also planned for a nearby site.
