Despite all the uncertainty about the new homes market, sales of some recently launched developments have been brisk.
Leahy Property Consultants logged £11.6 million (€14.73m) in sales at five different locations.
Most successful of all was Castlethorn's latest phase at Farnleigh in Castleknock, Dublin 15, where 21 apartments were bought by first -time buyers with a total value of £3.1 m (€3.94m).
In Lucan, the agency sold 12 three-bedroom semis at the Moy Glas estate at £160,000 each (€203,158). Overall sales here at the weekend reached £2.2 million (€2.79m).
Buying activity was even more intense in Carrick on Shannon, Co Leitrim, where 40 homes were sold to buyers planning to avail of Section 23 type tax breaks.
Further sales to first-time buyers at Tyrrelstown, Dublin 15, and Mount Andrew in Lucan brought the total for the weekend to 91 homes valued at £11.6 million (€14.73m). Hooke and MacDonald has also been experiencing buoyant sales at Sallins, Co Kildare, where 50 apartments and three and four-bedroom townhouses have been sold in the last two weeks. And at Delgany Woods, between Delgany and Killincarrig in Co Wicklow, 23 deposits with a total value of £5.3 million (€6.73m) were taken last weekend. Three-beds sold from £200,000 (€253,947).
