Irish Life has lodged a planning application for a retail warehouse development on a site off the old Malahide Road, in Coolock, Dublin 5, while Dublin Corporation has turned down permission for a similar type of scheme at a separate location in the same general area.
Irish Life is planning to build five units with a total floor area of 36,000 sq ft, a free-standing restaurant and 1,269 car-parking spaces on a 2.5-acre site on the edge of Coolock Industrial Estate and adjacent to the Old Malahide Road.
Walls Properties has not been as fortunate with its plans to develop retail warehousing and a garden centre with more than 200,000 sq ft on the north-western side of the Malahide Road and the extension to the Northern Cross route. The site is owned by P.J. Walls.
