A RECORD rent of £55 per square foot has been achieved for a new shop in Dublin's Nassau Street. The 1,237-square-foot retail unit is being built by the Green Property Company at the entrance to the Setanta Centre, which it bought over a year ago. The rent will work out at £68,000 per annum. A similar sized store at Green's new shopping centre in Blanchardstown would cost about £45,000. Nine of the 12 applicants for the Nassau Street shop have tourist-related businesses and one of them has been accepted as a tenant.
