Plans for high-rise and high density housing in Dublin 18 continues apace with over 1,300 more homes in the pipeline for the south Dublin area.
Galway developer John Lally of Lalco Developments has unveiled his plans for the former Irish Life site on Burton Hall Road in the Sandyford Industrial Estate.
Lally bought the six-acre site for €65 million last year. It is opposite the five-acre FAAC site which Lalco bought for an estimated €110 million.
A mixed-use development comprising 477 apartments, a leisure centre, 16,800sq m (180,877sq ft) of office space and 752 car-parking spaces is planned for the Irish Life site.
The scheme will be contained in two blocks ranging in height from five to 15 storeys.
Meanwhile, Cork developer John Fleming has just secured permission for another part of his Rockbrook mixed-use scheme at the former Aldi site also in the Sandyford Industrial Estate.
Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council has approved plans for the development which will include 471 apartments on the 3.8-acre site on Carmanhall Road.
Laid out over six blocks ranging from six to 14 storeys, it will comprise 20 retail units, 6,020sq m (64,798sq ft) of office space and a crèche, in addition to the residential element.
A total of 1,005 car-parking spaces will be provided in an underground parking area.
A new 100-metre boulevard will link the scheme with the Allegro site, where the developer has secured planning for over 800 apartments.
Also in Dublin 18, Tristor Ltd is seeking to change a planning permission for a mixed-use development to a residential scheme at The Park in Carrickmines.
The developer is looking to build 369 apartments, office accommodation, shops and restaurants in eight blocks in lieu of a previously secured planning permission for a 16-storey aparthotel, two motor showrooms, offices and an enterprise centre.
