Marks & Spencer to lease store in Stillorgan centre

The UK multiple Marks & Spencer is believed to be close to agreement on leasing a proposed new anchor store in Stillorgan Shopping Centre in Stillorgan, Co Dublin. The planners have granted planning permission for the redevelopment of the centre, but the decision has since been appealed to An Bord Pleanala by local residents. If the deal goes ahead, Marks and Spencer will probably lease around half of the extra 100,000 sq ft of retail space to be provided. Other major multiples like Boots and several big names in the fashion industry are likely to be in line for the remaining units. The Stillorgan centre is one of the most successful in the country.
