With apartments starting at less than £90,000 (E;114,300), the latest release of units in Riverbank in Drogheda, Co Louth, has been competitively priced to lure the first-time buyer.

Menolly Homes, who tend to produce high volumes at lower margins, are releasing 50 apartments, duplex units and townhouses in Riverbank this weekend.

On sale through Ross McParland, the two-bed apartments start at £89,995 (E;114,293), the three-bed duplex units are from £111,995 (E;142,223) and the three-bed townhouses start at £115,995 (E;147,313).

Riverbank is a mixed development of semis, detached houses and apartments in a valley setting and will comprise a total of 233 homes when completed.

The showhouses will be on view this Saturday and Sunday between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

The apartments are very generously proportioned. The three-bedroom duplex is 1,100 sq ft and has steps up to a tiled porch area.

The shiny red front door of the show apartment opens into a small hall which in turn leads to a spacious sittingroom with coving, a timber fireplace and large white PVC window.

The kitchen/diningroom, is impressively large. The kitchen on one side has plenty of well-finished cream Shaker-style units and a window over the sink area. A patio door in the dining area opens on to a large walled terrace.
