Tuesday (Dec 13th):John Weldon Auctioneers, Cow's Lane, Temple Bar, Dublin 2. Auction of jewellery, silver and gold. An 18ct gold, diamond, ruby and sapphire-set bracelet €2,500 (€2,500-€3,500); an 18ct gold diamond, jade and sapphire brooch in the shape of a bird €620 (€400-€600). There was strong demand for gold coins: 81 full sovereigns, estimated at €250-€350 each, all sold, in lots of six, for an average of €315 each; while 51 half sovereigns, estimated at €120-€180 each, all sold in lots of five, for an average of €134 each.

Wednesday (Dec 14th):O'Reilly's, 126 Francis St, D8. Jewellery, silver and gold auction. A diamond solitaire pendant with a 5.99ct stone mounted in gold €40,000 (€40,000-€50,000); a rectangular 9ct gold sliding-action cigarette case by Dunhill, London €2,400 (€2,000-€2,500); a Victorian silver travelling playing-cards box, containing two decks of cards, made in London in 1898, and engraved with a baron's coronet and the initials "MH" €350 (€200-€300).

Thursday (Dec 15th):charity art auction in aid of Dyspraxia Association of Ireland at 15 St Stephen's Green, D2. Canali tie worn by Taoiseach Enda Kenny during his "state of the nation" TV address €1,000; Chinese-made tie worn by Minister for Finance Michael Noonan on Budget day €220.
