Country house on 180 acres makes €1.55m under the hammer

SALESRESULTS:Knight Frank fetched €1.55 million at auction yesterday for Brookville House, Edenderry, Co Offaly, a five-bed country house on 180 acres.

In Co Laois, a two-storey detached house with an adjoining site of 0.2 acres - 5 Foxcroft Street, Portarlington - sold for €605,000 at auction yesterday through Matt Dunne Associates and the same agent fetched €660,000 for 74.5 acres of non-residential mixed land at Derrinoliver, Borris-in-Ossory, Co Laois.

Elsewhere, a three-bedroom bungalow on the seafront at Clahane, Liscannor, Co Clare sold at auction for €530,000 through Sherry FitzGerald Hussey Madden.

The property had an advised minimum value of €450,000 prior to auction.

In Co Kildare, a four-bed detached house on 8.5 acres, was withdrawn at auction and is under negotiation through Jordan Estate Agents.

In Commercial sales, Morrisseys secured €270,000 at auction yesterday for Goslins pub, Main Street, Ballycanew, Co Wexford.
