Council rejects Summerhill plan

Osmium Developments Partnership has been refused planning permission by Dublin City Council for a residential development at 26-29 Summerhill Parade and an adjoining site fronting the Royal Canal, D1. The proposal was to refurbish 26-29 Summerhill Parade and build a five and six-storey apartment block with more than 30 apartments. Dublin City Council said it would constitute an overintensification of the site, provide inadequate open space and off-street parking, and a gated right of way would restrict public and direct access to Summerhill Parade and the Royal Canal from adjoining streets.
