John Wilson: Australian wines to put on the shopping list

Wines for the Weekend: Nugan Estate’s chardonnay and shiraz are available at SuperValu

Nugan Estate is run by the third generation of a family that emigrated from Spain in 1938 when that country was racked with civil war. The company now has vineyards in five different regions of Australia and produces a wide range of wines. Matthew Nugan is the chief executive. They have a long and successful relationship with SuperValu. Both wines today are from single vineyards, the chardonnay from the cooler King Valley, the shiraz from the McLaren Vale, close to Adelaide.

Nugan Estate Frasca’s Lane Chardonnay 2021, King Valley, Australia
