A main prosecution witness in the trial of Portadown loyalist Billy Wright has been living under the Witness Protection Scheme since August 1995, a court heard yesterday.
On Thursday Ms Gwendoline Reed identified Mr Trevor Buchanan (29), of Corcrain Drive and Mr Dale Weathered (28), from Ranfurley Road as two of the men who attacked her daughter Nicola, then aged 15, and her boyfriend in August 1995. They have denied assaulting Ms Reed and injuring her boyfriend who was attacked with pick axe handles and sledge hammers.
