What's on your rider? This is something we really don't think about too much, but towels, water, fresh fruit, beer and non-alcoholic beer. And, depending on the gig or venue, some sandwich-making materials.

What would be on your fantasy rider?Oh, well, em, hot towels, Girls Aloud, Wi-Fi, Southern Comfort, properly chilled German brewskis, and a bottle of your finest champagne, please.

What's the best gig you've been to?Depeche Mode in Rock am Ring a few years ago. When we finished our set we were shuttled VIP-style down to the main arena and got front stage passes to the gig and then shuttled to a marquee for a free barbecue and drinks and hung out with Franz Ferdinand. Then we got into a fight with Danny from Cradle of Filth. A day I will never forget – brilliant!

Most embarrassing on-stage moment?Mine was playing a gig with Royseven in Munich at a radio festival for 10,000 people. During the set my keyboard stand collapsed with a weighted piano on top of it.

What's your crowd-pleasing number? At the moment it has to be our second single, We Should Be Lovers, from our new album, You Say We Say. It seems everybody in the country knows that song, and it's a real crowd pleaser.

Groupies.Would you? As Justin Bieber says, never say never.

Do you like to meet and greet fans after the gig?We love it because the fans come and pay good money to see your show, so it's nice to pay them back with some photos and autographs and to thank them for supporting you.

Any useful stage tips?Make sure your keyboard stands are properly set up.

What's your best tour story? It has to be the fight at Rock am Ring with Danny from Cradle of Filth. He stole a camera from one of our crew and denied it. Some words were had, then he head-butted me and punched our drummer Daz. Bernard, our bass player, jumped in and all hell broke loose. Danny had dreadlocks and I ended up with about 20 of them in my hand at the end of it all. I have to say his band were really apologetic and said he was very drunk. Needless to say he got thrown out and we continued to party on into the wee hours of the morning.
