What's On Your Rider?

What's on your rider?I started gigging last summer, so really don't feel at liberty to be demanding crazy luxuries. I think it's just water and tea.

What would be on your fantasy rider?Easter eggs (all year round) and magic wands for using "Wingardium Leviosa" to set up gear. A trampoline, whiskey and one of those bookcases with a secret door which leads onto the stage.

What's your pre-gig ritual/ routine?Standing in a circle, we perform clichéd warm-up stretches, followed by a round of very 1980s high-fives. If the palms aren't flat and if the clap isn't satisfactory, the high-five must be performed again.

What's the best gig you've been to?Paul Simon in Kilkenny Castle 2002 was fantastic. Blur at Oxegen 2009 – I was right up the front, loving it with friends. Last year I did some work in Dublin's Grand Canal Theatre and got the chance to watch amazing musicians like Ray Davies, Rufus Wainwright and Joanna Newsom.

What are your favourite and least favourite venues?I've performed at the Wexford Opera House a couple of times with my choir. The interior of the auditorium is curved, made from walnut, I think, which makes for stunning acoustics.

Least favourite? Can't say; maybe I've blocked them out.

Most embarrassing on-stage moment?Once I blushed when somebody in the crowd proposed to me. Blushing at that made me even more embarrassed.

Groupies. Would you?Eh?

How many roadies does it take to change your lightbulbs? It depends. I played support for Ellie Goulding's Irish dates. She had a fleet of tour buses, a convoy of trucks with an army of a production team. We arrived backstage at the Ulster Hall in an Opel Astra jammed full of gear. Glad of it, though.

Have you a special stage wardrobe?I like to wear black, shoes that make noise and clothes with pockets.

Any useful stage tips?Just check cables – I've electrocuted myself over and over on stage. I learned the hard way. Ok, the stupid way.

What's the worst thing ever thrown at you?A wedding proposal.
