Antrim: Moonlight Club Dance in St Patrick's Hall with golden oldie music 9 p.m.1 a.m.

Belfast: Shine Millennium Party at King's Hall, a night of techno, drum and bass.

Co Armagh

Craigavon Lakes: Firework Display and unveiling of millennium sculpture.

Armagh: fireworks with live music and events in the town centre.

Carlow: Millennium Party in the Dolmen Hotel, Kilkenny Road, with entertainment by Tuxedo Junction.

Co Clare

Dromoland: Masked Millennium Ball at the Clare Inn Golf and Leisure Club.

Town Centre: Christian Praise for the Millennium, from 10.30 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Market Street, Bangor: seafront fireworks display at midnight.

Donard Park: fireworks from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

City centre: Free open-air concert in Merrion Square with Brian Kennedy, the Kilfenora Ceili Band, Donal Lunny Band and Sharon Shannon, from afternoon until the early hours of New Year's Day.

Ballsbridge: Millennium Mania: The 1970s experience with three massive parties in the RDS. Music by Abbaesque, the Glam Tarts and Boogie Nights the show.

City Centre: Afternoon Street Party in the square featuring a children's parade and performers from Macnas.

Co Kerry

Killarney: Joe Dolan Millennium Show at the Gleneagle Hotel available for residents only.

Moyvane: History of the Wrenboys Day with workshops on bodhran-making and playing. Venue to be confirmed.

Town centre: Paris Texas Nightclub Millennium Party with Rocky Horror Show Theme.

Co Kildare

Kilcullen: Street entertainment and theatre with period costumes, re-enactment of historic events, music and fireworks.

Monasterevin: Millennium Show at the Hazel Hotel with Jimmy Buckley and band.

Westmeath

Town centre: Outdoor music, song, Irish dancing at the Mullingar Arts Centre between 3 p.m. and 4.30 p.m.

Wexford

Ferrycarrig: Millennium Ball at Ferrycarrig Hotel, dinner and dancing with one night's accommodation and breakfast.

Wicklow

Bray: Light of Christ through the new millennium. Church services across the area at 11 p.m. and at 11.55 p.m.
