A VICTORIAN walnut bookcase was knocked down at £2,000 to a buyer from Northern Ireland at the Adams sale in Blackrock, Dublin, last Tuesday. Among the carpet lots a Hamadan wool carpet with motifs on a red and cream ground sold for £1,750 and a second Hamadan rug in shades of blue, red and cream made £1,250.

A Victorian mahogany chest of drawers fetched £820; a Victorian two-door bookcase, sold for £800; a good Victorian mahogany three-door wardrobe fetched £580; a set of five William IV bar-back dining chairs made £500; and a Victorian mahogany linen press was bought for £390.
