As the centrepiece of its first Christmas celebrations, the new Market Place Theatre has revived Centre Stage's production of The Snow Queen.

In an adaptation that satisfyingly blends pantomime, fairy story and morality tale, writer-director Roma Tomelty retains the magic of Hans Christian Anderson's original, while also giving young audiences plenty to shout and laugh about.

The production sits well within the mellow, Shakespearean-style arena and no expense has been spared on high-quality lighting and stage effects. The cast responds with spirit to the eager little faces focused upon them.

The Snow Queen is at The Market Place until 23rd December. To book phone Armagh 521821.
