For playwrights under 26: get in touch with the Royal Court Theatre, Sloane Square, London SW18 8AS or by e-mail at ywp@royalcourttheatre.com for application forms to join the young writers programme, Exposure: Young Writers 2000.

Your complete and original playscript needs to be delivered (in photocopy since originals will not be returned) to the theatre by July 1st this year. It must not have had a previous professional production. It must be easily photocopiable (therefore unbound with all pages numbered) and can be on any subject, of any length and with any number of characters. It should include a covering letter with author's name, address, telephone number and date of birth. No previous writing experience is required.

The selection of the four best works will be made by Ola Animashawun, director of the Young Writers' Programme, Ian Rickson, artistic director of the Royal Court, and Graham Whybrow, literary manager.

The patrons of the Young Writers' Programme (who may run workshops between now and July) include Danny Boyle (director), Kathy Burke (actress) Lindsay Coulson (actress), Ayub Khan Din (author East is East) Kulvinder Ghir (comedian), Jonathan Harvey (writer), Lennie James (actor, writer), Hanif Kureshi (author) Meera Syal (writer, actress) and Ray Winstone (actor).
