ORIGINALLY planned as a feature film by the late Rainer Werner Fassbinder and later planned as a film by Costa-Gavras, Martin Sherman's play, Bent, dealing with gay men in a Nazi concentration camp, finally has gone before the cameras with the London theatre director, Sean Mathias, at the helm. Clive Owen, Lothaire Bluteau, Brian Webber and Ian McKellen take the leading roles, with Mick Jagger in a supporting role.
Wearing his new film producer's hat, Jagger has a range of projects lined up through his Jagged Films company, including Michael Radford's espionage thriller, Tania, which will feature Antonio Banderas as Che Guevara. Contrary to some media reports, Banderas does not play Guevarn in Alan Parker's imminent movie of the musical, Evita in that film, his character, Che, is an Everyman character who comments on the drama unfolding around him.
