SINCE its relatively recent inception, the fine art appreciation course run by the Irish Auctioneers and Valuers Institute has become very popular. A new one starts on Tuesday, February 13th, at the institute's headquarters in Merrion Square, Dublin, and it will include 10 fortnightly lectures (two per evening) until April 9th.

According to the IAVI, places are limited previous courses have been over subscribed by as much as 250 per cent. However, there are still some places available.

The lecturers will include James O'Halloran of the James Adam Salerooms, Denis Drum of Malahide, Douglas Bennett, the silver expert. Brian Coyle of James Adam.
